Coaching Staff

Carlos Castillo

Varsity Head Coach

Welcome to our Santiago Sharks Basketball Program. I am Coach Castillo and this is my second year as your Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach. After improving throughout year one, the coaching staff and I are looking forward to continuing to build a competitive and winning basketball program here at Santiago High School for years to come.

I am a graduate of Mount Miguel High School where I had the opportunity to play both varsity football and basketball. Although I am a huge fan of both sports, my love for the game of basketball led me to begin a coaching career shortly after. I started off coaching at the JV and Varsity levels at my alma mater. During this time, our team was named Grossmont League Champions 2 years in a row and in 2010 we won CIF Division III. In addition to that, I also come to you with a wealth of experience and expertise in the Big VIII League as I have had the opportunity to coach within the league at various schools/levels over the past 10 years.

Although I have been a part of various programs who have celebrated different accomplishments along the way, my greatest accomplishment has been to be a servant leader to my players. The game of basketball has allowed me to build and sustain strong relationships with amazing young me over the years. With the support of my wife and kids, I look forward to continuing this journey through serving the community and basketball family here at Santiago High School. GO SHARKS!!

Josh Dybala

Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Dybala has extensive basketball coaching experience at various levels (recreation, AAU, and high school). Coach Dybala has been recognized by the City of Norco and the Corona City Council for his work in the Norco City youth league and the Corona Ballers AAU program. Through these efforts, he helped local youth learn life skills through the game of basketball. Coach Dybala is excited for the opportunity to learn and grow as a coach at Santiago High School and is honored to be part of the Shark family.

Darryl Berrymon

JV Head Coach / Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Berrymon played basketball at both the high school and college level. At West Covina High School, he led the San Gabriel Valley in assists and became an All Sierra League performer his senior year. He went to play at both Rio Hondo Junior College and La Sierra University. Coach Berrymon has been coaching since 2006 and been a key part of several successful Varsity coaching staffs at Colton, La Sierra, and Norco High Schools. This is Coach Berrymon’s second year coaching at Santiago High School and he’s excited to continue working with Coach Castillo and the rest of the staff.
